Supercomputing Facility for Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (SCFBio), IIT Delhi, under the aegis of the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi intends to start a semester-long certificate-based training/workshop programme in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from 22nd September, 2024, in an online mode. This is an exclusive training programme meticulously crafted for graduate and postgraduate students as well as seasoned professionals from industry. 1) Topics for the training/workshop programme:

i) Course Title: Cheminformatics & Molecular Modeling
ii) Course Objectives: This course intends to provide an introduction to Cheminformatics. The primary goal is to solve chemical problems utilizing knowledge of chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, and computer science. This will also cover several methods of Cheminformatics with emphasis on applications including modern drug discovery.
iii) Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of high school chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics. A little exposure to scripting and computer programming will be desirable (not mandatory).
iv) Participants’ Learning Outcomes:
• Basics of Cheminformatics
• Theory and application of various drug designing softwares
• Set up MD simulations and analyze the data.
• Identification and optimization of lead molecules
• Detailed hands-on practice sessions to develop a knowledge base for further research and development.

2) Duration of Training/Workshop:-

The training/Workshop programme is proposed to be conducted over the weekends (3 hours each on Saturdays and Sundays) and the entire set of modules mentioned above will be completed in maximum of 3.5 months.

3) Eligibility:-

B.Sc. / B. Tech. / B. Pharma / M.Sc. / M. Tech. / M. Pharma / Ph.D. Students/Faculty and Professionals from Industries. Aspirants from any other stream or courses not falling under the above criterion can also send their enquiries, if they want to be a part of it.

4) Maximum number of participants: -

25 per batch. 

5) Registration: -

The online registration link has already been enabled for registration. Since, there are a limited number of seats available for this programme, early registration will have an added advantage to get a confirmed seat. 6) Fee: -

Rs 40,000/ plus 18% GST = Rs. 47,200 for the entire one semester course.
